Condo Moving Survival Tips

Living in a condo in the city has a lot of advantages. The close proximity to work is certainly an attractive benefit that has drawn many Millennials to move into a condo. This has made moving from one condo to another a fairly common experience for young professionals. The first thing you want to do to start the condo-moving process is to find good local movers to help you out. Once that is done, there are a few more pointers to keep in mind to help you survive this potentially stressful experience.

The Sooner You Start, the Faster You’ll Finish

Even if you still have 30 days before the actual move, it’s important to get started organizing your least-used belongings into boxes early. Moving is a labor-intensive process, and the more tasks you get out of the way before your scheduled move, the easier the whole experience will be.

Set Up a Schedule as Soon as Possible

Specialized professionals like piano movers can be hard to book so it’s best to contact them and make your appointment early. If you have friends or family who will help you with sorting things out, have them save the date as well.

Elevator Use

Contact your building’s office to reserve one elevator for your use on the day of your move. This can save you plenty of time as moving often involves several elevator trips to and from your place. If possible, do the same for your destination building. Having an elevator reserved for you eliminates one of the biggest sources of headaches during a move.

Repurpose and Recycle

Before you movers arrive, take this opportunity to declutter your belongings. If you can find items that you no longer need or use, recycle them, or give them away. This can reduce the number of boxes you will need for your move.
