Create a Digital Memory

Old photos albums and documents are only going to take more space in your new home even when they’re just stored away in boxes in the garage. Consider scanning them to create digital copies before throwing them away for good. This may be a bit tedious depending on how many physical documents and photos you have, but then you won’t have to worry about them taking up physical space in your new place. And since you have digital copies of these items, you won’t have to worry about getting them damaged!

You can also digitize other sentimental items, such as drawings, writings or other stuff you made as a kid. These items can be hard to let go of, but you should also know that they’ll take up some storage space in your new place when the movers come in to get your items, so think about what’s best for you. Digitizing them will also make it a bit easier to finally let them go.

Get Rid of What Isn’t Useful Anymore

Some items are easier to get rid of than others, but you need to be thorough if you want to live in your new place clutter-free.
