Do It Ahead of Time

It’s not a very good idea to only start packing a few days before your move. Starting early can help keep your home clean while moving. Declutter your current home at least a month prior to moving. Give or sell things that you don’t need in your new house. 

Avoid stress by packing one room at a time. This will also allow you to have the space cleared for cleaning. While packing, keep cleaning supplies at hands reach like a cleaning bucket, glass cleaner, latex gloves, microfiber cloths and vacuum. 

Keep Your Floors Safe

Cover your floors with a protective material before your movers arrive. You can use old fabrics, plastic sheets, newspapers or rags. Taking this measure will prevent your flooring from getting dirty or damaged while moving your things out of the house. You also don’t need to cover all the floors, just the areas that will receive the most traffic during the move. 

Have a Cleaning Plan

It would help to have a cleaning plan before you actually do the task. Do you want to do it room by room? Cleaning and packing room by room is easier because you don’t have to go from one place to another to get your cleaning supplies.
