If you decide to tip your movers with money, you have two options: either a flat rate or by percentage. Most moving companies prefer a flat rate, but we recommend doing it by percentage so that it’s fair for both you and the mover.

When our customers ask us how much to tip, we usually recommend 10% to 15% of the total move cost. For local moves, we suggest between $20 to $50 per person as a gesture of appreciation. For more complex moves, we suggest $40 to $70.
